Schedule of Events

Pianorama

Holiday Inn Ballroom  •  Sunday morning/afternoon

John WilderSome of the Festival's top pianists will offer a short set to dazzle the audience with their solo concert work — pure piano at its best. Hosted by Sacramento pianist John Wilder, the Pianorama is a festival institution — and one of its most popular events since 1977. Piano styles typically include swing, blues, stride, boogie-woogie, a little contemporary and, of course, ragtime. Sets run 20 minutes for each performer.

While the exact schedule is yet to be determined, you can expect to see some excellent pianists in 2012. The festival is presenting such world class musicians as Rossano Sportiello (from Italy), Larry Vuckovich, Frederick Hodges, Jason Wanner, and others.

BELOW: Many times over the years, we were honored to have Eddie Higgins performing at the Pianorama. Eddie passed away in 2009. Click here for his version of "America the Beautiful," performed at the 2007 Sac. Jazz Festival & Jubilee.
